Pierson physics and astronomy students explore NYC
Pierson High School students recently completed their annual trip to the American Museum of
Natural History in New York City, held by physics and astronomy teacher Clint Schulman. The
trip is included in the physics and astronomy class curriculums and has been led by Schulman
since 2007.
Students explored the Hayden Planetarium and completed a worksheet related to the museum’s
exhibitions. As part of their visit, they attended a planetarium show about the formation of
planets and the possibility of life beyond earth. The experience welcomed real-world exposure to
astronomy and deepened the students’ understanding of space-science and the universe.
While in New York City, the class made a stop at Chelsea Market for lunch and explored the
marketplace with their peers and teachers.
