Pierson students selected for regional music honors

Sag Harbor’s Pierson High School is proud to announce that 10 student-musicians were selected to participate in the Hampton Music Educators Association Music Festival, a prestigious regional honor recognizing exceptional young performers from across the East End of Long Island.
The following Pierson students were chosen for this year’s HMEA ensembles: Leo Tremblay, Shoshana Sobey, Evie Berkoski, Emily Drohan, Kate Deleski, Gabriella Hugo, Olivia Quinn, Veronica Denkewitz, Sebastian Corson and Eva Dagdeviren.
The students were nominated by their music teachers and selected through a competitive process that evaluates musicianship, preparation and performance ability. Once chosen, they rehearsed with top student musicians from neighboring districts and worked closely with experienced guest conductors before presenting a culminating concert.
Selection to HMEA is a significant achievement and reflects both the students’ dedication and the strength of the music program at Pierson High School. Participation provides students with an opportunity to perform challenging repertoire while building collaboration, discipline and artistic growth.
