Pierson IB Visual Arts students showcase work

Pierson High School recently hosted its International Baccalaureate Visual Arts Exhibition Open, a culminating showcase celebrating the creative achievements of its Diploma Programme Visual Arts students.
The IB Diploma Programme is a rigorous course of study that encourages students to become critical thinkers, independent learners and globally minded individuals. Within the Visual Arts course, students spend two years developing both technical skill and conceptual depth, exploring ideas through sustained artistic inquiry across a wide range of media.
This year’s exhibition highlighted the extraordinary breadth of student work, with each artist presenting a final collection that represents the culmination of their two-year journey. Most students worked across four to five distinct mediums, demonstrating both versatility and personal voice. The exhibition featured an impressive range of creative expression, including fashion design, photography, digital art, oil painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture and even surfboards, underscoring the innovative and highly individualized nature of the program.
The IB Visual Arts Exhibition Open served as both a public celebration and an academic milestone, offering the school community an opportunity to engage directly with student work and the ideas behind it. Each installation reflected extensive research, experimentation and refinement, as students curated cohesive bodies of work that communicate personal themes and artistic intent.
