Pierson Pride Shines at Sag Harbor Homecoming Celebration

The Sag Harbor Union Free School District celebrated homecoming on Friday, October 9, with a day full of school spirit that brought the Pierson Middle/High School community together. Students and staff gathered for a spirited pep rally, followed by varsity athletic games and a carnival that welcomed families and community members for a memorable evening of school pride, community, and fun.
The high-energy pep rally in the high school gym kicked off the homecoming festivities, where grade-level teams went head-to-head in friendly competition to build excitement for the day ahead. Sports games followed at Mashashimuet Park and in the school gym, with the varsity field hockey team facing West Babylon, the varsity boys’ soccer team taking on Greenport, and the varsity volleyball team competing against Port Jefferson.
As evening arrived, the celebration moved to the back field behind the high school, where a carnival welcomed the entire community. Pierson Pride was on full display during the lip sync battle as students performed to the delight of the crowd, many in costumes and festive, themed attire. The homecoming celebration brought the school community together for an evening of connection and school spirit.
“It was great to see the camaraderie among our students and across all grade levels throughout the day,” Director of Athletics, Health and PE Brian Tardif said. “Having the community come out to join the homecoming festivities and support our district made the celebration even more special.”
